I must admit, after more than 20 years of Bali holidays, we have never actually stayed in Kuta! The Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort is a luxury paradise for families, and there wasn’t a Bintang singlet in sight! 🙂
We were welcomed on arrival by beautiful Balinese ladies in traditional dress, and after check-in we arrived in our suite to cute towel animals for the girls and a delicious chocolate fondue welcome treat with fresh strawberries, cookies and marshmallows. Yes the little guests are made most welcome here!
if you want to stay in the absolute heart of the bustling Kuta action, but still be able to retreat to a quiet, peaceful and luxe resort then this is the spot for you.
The Play kids club is a welcome addition for the younger ones (though not so relevant to our tweens girls now) and is also accessible via the Beachwalk shopping mall next door and is open to non-hotel guests too.
The inside area is a colourful and fun and offers all the kids club standards - art and craft activities, games, toys, computers, and a TV area to relax and watch a movie. There is a cute outside area too with a little toddler pool and playground covered by a shade cloth.
The resort is adjacent to the Beachwalk mall so shopping, movies, kids activities and the famous Candylicious sweet store are all just steps away - much more suited to my tween travellers!
The beautiful Shine Spa offer family packages and kids treatments, and the girls and I enjoyed a relaxing massage together. A spa treatment is always a special Bali holiday treat and something we have been doing together since they were little.
The infinity pool is lovely and has stunning views of palm-trees and the ocean, and there is a smaller shallow toddlers pool.
Kuta beach is right out the front for swims in the sea, cartwheels on the sand or even surf lessons.
We loved all our dining experiences here! Our family enjoyed sunset drinks at the rooftop bar - two virgin mojitos for the Little Bali Love girls please - which is probably the best location in Kuta to enjoy one of the islands most famous sunsets.
After our drinks we headed downstairs to Bene restaurant for an Italian family feast with pizzas and pastas. They often hold themed buffet nights too, so keep an eye out for them as well.
The breakfast buffet at Feast was always plentiful and delicious and always served with a smile and an excellent hot coffee. There is the sweetest little kids breakfast area with small tables and chairs, colourful plastics plates and cups, and so many cute kiddie treats to indulge in at the kids very own mini buffet. There were healthy options including fruit skewers and mini salad rolls as well as eclairs, cakes and donuts all with cute animal faces.
There is a kids menu on offer in all of the restaurants including baby and toddler menus with purees and mashes for the bubs... such a thoughtful touch for the most junior guests.
We also enjoyed the Sunday Market Brunch at Feast, a unique concept that combines an indulgent brunch with a fresh local market. Each guest is able to take home with them one kilo of fresh market produce when they leave - tropical fruit, veggies, and loaves of freshly baked bread.
There are a variety of rooms and suites to suit different sized families and budgets.
Our spacious ground floor suite was very well set up for families with a play corner in the lounge room with foam mats, beanbags, toys, balls, towel animals... probably more suited to younger children and toddlers, however the novelty of it was still warmly received by our girls.
Mini kid-sized dressing gowns can be found hanging in the wardrobe, kids toiletry packs in the bathroom - one pink and one blue and there was even a step stool and kids toilet seat. They have pretty much thought of everything you might need when travelling with little ones.
The resort itself is a peaceful luxury oasis, located right in the heart of Kuta with shopping, restaurants and the beach all at your fingertips. The beach is directly opposite, Beachwalk mall is next door, and Poppies Lane is just behind the resort for fun market shopping and souvenirs.
There are so many choices at Beachwalk for restaurants too as well as on all the nearby streets. Fat Chow is right behind the resort and we had one of the best meals here we have ever had in Bali - just get there early for dinner or you will be lining up down the street with everyone else. But even if you do, it is SO worth the wait.
To all the team at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort - Thankyou for having us to stay - we had such a fun time with great food and drinks, and we loved experiencing a different side to Kuta. xx
