100% vegetarian, 100% kid-friendly…
Warung Sopa is a laid back, 100% vegetarian, kid friendly restaurant. Warung means “stall” in Bahasa Indonesian and Sopa is the Spanish word for “soup” – makes sense as the co-owners of this healthy vegetarian deli cafe are Spanish and Japanese.
The menu is a mix of Indonesian Nasi Campur (rice with a selection of small dishes), Japanese food, healthy juices and of course delicious soups. The emphasis is on wholesome and organic, locally sourced wherever possible and always MSG free. For sweet lovers you can’t go past their chocolate and coconut pie, they also pride themselves on offering the “best chai in town”.
Warung Sopa has a welcoming, family friendly, laid back ambience. Somewhere you can really settle in and stay for a while. The mix of natural wood, white tiled walls and low seating on cushions gives it a rustic and outdoor feel.
There is a small kids corner with books, blocks, toys and soft skittles and outside “The Garden” a large, grassy play area with tyres for swinging, climbing and balancing. The lush bushes and plants offer plenty of hide and seek spots and it’s a great space for your little tree huggers to tumble around and enjoy fresh air. The garden is tucked back, away from the road, so it’s peaceful and safe for playing.
On Wednesdays, they host the Ubud organic market, where farmers come to sell their produce. You can also stock up on yummy homemade jams, sauces, crusty baked bread and healthy snacks to take home. Make sure you check out the noticeboard too as they run a variety of classes and kids activities including ballet, yoga and acrobatics!
