  • Brunch by the beach at La Luch is a must!

La Lucciola is a truly stunning and special spot; it’s an oasis of calm and understated elegance amidst the hustle and bustle of the heart of Seminyak.  Located just next to the Pura Petitenget temple, over a little wooden bridge, and nestled right on the beach with some of the most-photographed swaying coconut palms on the island out the front.

Over the (many) years it has become a famous Bali institution and is often lovingly referred to by frequent travellers as “La Luch”. At night it is incredibly romantic with the cool ocean breeze, cocktails, candles and fresh frangipani’s (hire a babysitter for that!).  But by day this restaurant is the perfect location for families for a special breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Over the years we have seen the kids menu and highchairs that were previously on offer be removed.  Not sure of the reasons behind this, however despite the lack of conventional kid-friendly amenities, it is still so popular with families with young children, and has still remained after many years one of our own personal family faves.

The staff here are so gentle, friendly, helpful and welcoming to children, the restaurant is spacious with room for prams & strollers, and there is a non-smoking section.  The huge grassy green lawn and clean sandy beach in front offer plenty of space for little ones to run and play while they build up their appetites for a delicious meal.

The kids love the colourful fresh juices and icy granitas, Mum and Dad enjoy the good coffee, and the bircher muesli with poached tamarillos, and all the egg, bacon and side options make for a nice brunch (the hash browns are the best!). The rainbow tropical fruit platter and a serve of coconut toast with jam always keeps the little ones happy too.

A visit to Bali is not complete without a breakfast at La Luch by day, and a cocktail by night!
