Traditional dining in tropical style…
On arrival, Kayumanis Resto is immediately warm and welcoming with a distinct ‘old Bali’ feel.
Lush tropical gardens, coconut palms and green lawns surround the replica Javanese joglo, which is crafted almost entirely from sustainably sourced hardwood and truly captures the rustic elegance of a traditional family home.
You can choose to dine indoors or al fresco on the breezy wrap around verandah which was our choice for the evening. It is a gorgeous spot for an early dinner – the kids can run and play on the expanse of lush green grass out the front, while Mum and Dad sit back and relax on the verandah, cocktail in hand. (I can highly recommend their signature Coconut Mojito made with fresh young coconut water!)
The menu consists of authentic Indonesian cuisine with a mix of modern and classic dishes from around the archipelago, and a dedicated kids menu offers simpler meals yet still made from quality ingredients and presented with the same flair.
The tiny diners will be kept entertained at the table with the kids menu which doubles as a colouring-in/activity booklet which is presented along with coloured pencils.
The restaurant is located within a luxury villa compound, and is presented as an upmarket and stylish venue, yet it was incredibly well-priced considering the stunning surrounds, the welcoming and accommodating staff and the high standard of food and service.
The evening ends on a high with delicious traditional sweets and hot healing herbal tonics for the adults and scoops of ice cream for the kids. And once the sun has gone down, some after-dinner frog-spotting on the lawn.
This is a lovely option for a relaxed family dinner with style if staying in the Jimbaran area and you want a change from the seafood warungs or resort restaurants.
Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
