The worlds most lovable Chef brings healthy & fun family dining to the Island of the Gods…
As big fans of Mister Oliver not to mention the gorgeous Jools and their fabulously named tribe of kidlets (Insta stalking much?), and also owning a whole shelf of Jamie’s cookbooks, once we had heard the latest addition to the Jamie’s Italian family had opened on our beloved Island of the Gods we couldn’t wait to pay it a visit. So off to Kuta we went…
As soon as we arrived, the fun, buzzy vibe was apparent. We were warmly greeted and seated and the kids presented with a helium balloon and a little tin bucket each full of coloured pencils, colouring-in sheets, plus a selection of stickers and badges to keep.
Families are warmly welcomed and there are many extra little touches to make a family dining experience here one to remember! There are also highchairs for the smallest guests and room in the al fresco downstairs area for prams and larger groups.
The kids menu is presented to the little guests in the most fun, unique and engaging way… via a little red Viewfinder (Children of the 80’s will be impressed with this blast from the past!) with a disc showcasing photos of each of the kids meals on offer. From “Happy Chicken Lollipops” to mini serves of pastas and baby beef burgers to the freshest fish of the day baked in a bag, there is sure to be something to tickle the tiny tastebuds of each little diner.
Each kids meal is also served with a “Shake Me Salad”… a sweet little flip top jar full of healthy salad bits and a simple tasty dressing ready to be shaken and then eaten straight from the jar! Again, another fantastic way of keeping the kids engaged and entertained – not to mention eating their greens!
The menu for us bigger guests is casual Italian dining at its best… pizzas, pastas, salads and steaks and Jamie’s famous “Planks”… a wooden serving board adorned with antipasti, buffalo mozzarella, cured meats and other grazing delights, served in the middle of the table elevated on tins of canned Italian tomatos… adding to the theatre of this unique spot and the overall fun and relaxed vibe. All washed down with a glass of traditional Italian Vino or bubbly Prosecco!
It is located just next to the Hard Rock Hotel so if you are staying there or elsewhere in the hood then it is close and accessible, and also just a hop, skip and a jump from Kuta beach. For those staying the Seminyak/ Canggu way, don’t be put off, it really isn’t that far to go (20 – 30 minutes depending on the traffic) and is well worth making the time to visit for a fun and memorable family meal.
Jamie, we love you, your passion for healthy food and casual family eating, and your latest addition to Bali’s dining scene. Oh, and your “Crapper” is pretty cool too! Well done Jamie – Big love right back at ya! x
Open Monday – Sunday – 12pm to 11pm
