  • Happy hippie vibes and healthy, colourful food…

Everyone here may be a yoga teacher, or at least look like one with their slim tanned limbs, barefeet, long hair, and loose clothing, however the melting pot of nationalities of expats and travellers that make up the eclectic clientele here all have one thing in common – good taste for good food!

Alchemy is famous worldwide for being the first 100% raw, vegan cafe in Bali where everything is fresh, organic and local.  It’s located just out of the centre of town, so take a taxi or get your driver to drop you off, it’s definitely worth it!

The Salad bar is the hero here, where you can create your own bowl of raw rainbow goodness of leafy greens plus all kinds of delicious delectable ingredients, toppings and dressings.

There is also a small a la carte menu, where the kids will find something to munch on including fresh sushi rolls, veggies and dip, sandwiches, quiche and soup.

The specialty Juice Bar offers up a huge selection including well-being juices, inspirational juices, coolers and lemonades, with a variety of sizes starting from a small (the perfect kid size) to the extra large monster size.  Or you can’t go past a fresh young coconut, complete with natural straw made from a Papaya stem – so clever!

For morning or afternoon tea or a post lunch sweet treat, there is a selection of raw, vegan, organic fudge, cakes, slices and energy balls – including the divine chai fudge and their own version of a Bounty bar.

The cafe is very spacious with lots of different areas to sit or lounge and is a non-smoking venue, which earns an extra kid-friendly tick in our book.  There are highchairs for the littlest ones, a wooden box of kids toys in the back area, plus a swing which we discovered is actually some kind of funky yoga swing thingo – oh so Ubud!

The system can be a little confusing at first… so best to just cruise in and find yourself a table, get the kids settled in and then order at the different counters. You then pay for everything at the desk at the end.

    Open 7 days, 7am – 9pm

Take-away & delivery available too – handy if you are staying nearby!
